One savvy player, two passions.
My name is Noor Desai. I am 12 years old, and my two favorite things in the world are tennis and a planet worth playing on. String Savvy is what happens when those two finally meet.
I go through a set of strings about every two weeks, and one afternoon I asked my stringer where all the broken ones go. He went quiet for a moment, then told me the honest truth: he throws them out, and it bothers him every single time. That answer stayed with me long after I left the court. All those strings, each one a small piece of plastic, quietly heading for the same landfill.
So I started collecting. Everything I gather now goes to Let Tennis, where broken polyester becomes fabric instead of trash. If one kid with a collection bin can change where strings end up, imagine what a whole club could do. That is the match I would love more players, clubs, and stringers to join.
Age 3
I picked up a racket for the first time on the public tennis courts in New York, where I was born. Love at first sight.
Age 5
We moved to San Francisco. I kept playing on courts all over the city.
Age 9
I started taking tennis more seriously and training regularly, and played my first USTA tournament.
Age 11
I developed a passion for environmental sustainability and started looking for ways, big or small, to make a difference.
Age 12
I started StringSavvy, collecting broken polyester strings from local clubs and sending them to Let Tennis, where they are turned into fabric instead of trash.

The Solution
From strings to fabric
Let Tennis breaks the strings down into virgin quality polyester that goes into new apparel, so the same plastic that once made a string can become a shirt. That process uses less water, less energy, and produces less CO₂ than polyester made from scratch. A winning volley for the environment.
